All Hitsp and IHE incompatibility issues with HL7 V2 were resolved in HL7 V3. 2- No. This is a schema that can be used with any system. 3- Yes. Companies have been building object modules on top of the database to integrate healthcare -and non-healthcare- information between different systems. 4- HL7v3 LTR 1.1 schema is protected by a copyright to Health-IT-Bits, the license allows you to develop, modify and use the database to develop software solutions.
